When we are facing a fearful situation, our mind can react in different ways.
The Emotional way: The right side of the brain (the emotional part), receives the external input and reacts instinctively. For Example: If we unexpectedly encounter a bear, most probably, our right side overwhelmed with fright, reacts immediately by sending a clear signal to the muscular system to run away as fast as possible. (The right side is in power)
The Rational way: The right side of the brain (the emotional part), receives the external input and instead of reacting instinctively, the input is sent to the left side of the brain (The rational part).
For Example: If we unexpectedly encounter a bear, the right side, still frightful but overpowered by the rational side, sends a message to the left hemisphere which reacts by telling the muscular system to remain still. (The left side is in power because it has seen a National Geographic documentary episode where they explained that the animals do not attack if you do not run away)
The rational way it is mainly activated by specific trainings: People trained to save lives, to extinguish a fire, to fight etc.....
The ERGO SUM way: Both the emotional and the rational side of the brain are involved and interact in a cooperative work. No matter the action chosen, it is done in full awareness!
For Example: If we unexpectedly encounter a bear, the emotional and the rational side togehter communicate at the same level and whatever the decision, it is totally aware, hence dauntless (Both left and right sides are fearlessly in charge knowing that animals do not attack if do not sense the pray's fear......(since they are aware they do not even need to watch tv!!))
